THE ACP/ EU WATER FACILITY PROGRAMME
The Ultimate Outcome (Goal) of the programme is:
To have clean water supplies, basic sanitation facilities and hygiene practices of men, women, girls and boys in 11 wards of Gwanda District in Matabeleland South Province of Zimbabwe significantly improved by August 2016.
The Intermediate Outcome (Purpose) is:
To have clean water supplies, basic sanitation and hygiene practices of 11 wards of Gwanda District improved by 75% through rehabilitation of 150 boreholes, installation of 208 water points, construction of 20 SRWHS and 500 slow sand filter tanks (SFT), 2860 sanitation facilities , capacity building trainings and documentation of best practices by August 2016.
Immediate Outcomes
Result 1: Leadership Development For Self Reliance
Community leadership in 11 wards of Gwanda district strengthened for self-reliance and effectively representing at least 85% of the population in the operation, maintenance and repair of water, sanitation and hygiene facilities through awareness raising, peer reviews, training & exposure/exchange visits by August 2016.
Result 2: Water Supplies
Men, women, boys and girls in 13,890 households in 11 wards of Gwanda district have an improved supply of clean and safe water for domestic use.

Result 3: Improved Sanitation practices
To ensure sanitation practices of women, man, girls and boys in 2860 households in 11 wards of Gwanda district are improved by at least 18%from baseline figures.

To ensure that hygiene practices of women, men, girls and boys in 5000 households of Gwanda district in Wards 1-9, 13 &13 are improved by at least 24% from baseline.
